Drawing equally from jazz, broken beat, funk, disco, and experimental electronic music, he has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in South Africa's evolving musical landscape, creating works that balance rhythmic sophistication with an instinctive sense of groove and sonic exploration.

Damon's artistic foundation was shaped by a rich musical lineage, from his grandfather's choral conducting to the beat-making aesthetics of the influential Low End Theory movement. These diverse influences inform a practice that treats drumming as both composition and conversation.
